CEO & Founder
mzering@apricotx.comMichael Zering has lived in Zurich since 1999, having moved from London. With an MBA from the University of Maryland, he has 15 years of experience in financial services, including seven years at a Big-4 consulting firm, specializing in Regulatory and Compliance projects. He recently completed the Oxford Banking Governance program at Saïd Business School. Outside work, he enjoys outdoor adventures with his family.

Cell and Molecular Biology/Cancer Biology
arai@apricotx.comArpan Rai was born and raised in India. He did his PhD in cell biology and biochemistry from India, investigating the function of cellular biomolecular machines. He joined Pelkmans lab in Zürich for his post-doctoral studies in 2013, where he studied signaling pathways regulating biomolecular condensates. He joined Apricot BIO in 2022 as Head of Biology to develop functional assays and systems biology approaches to advance the functional precision oncology program. In his free time, he enjoys playing racket sports and bird watching.

Chairman & Founder
lpelkmans@apricotx.comLucas Pelkmans is a Dutch-born scientist and professor at the University of Zurich, where he leads a renowned international lab. Recognized in MIT Technology Review’s TR35 list and among Europe’s top 10 most-cited cell biologists, he has received multiple prestigious awards, including ERC grants. He co-founded 3V-Biosciences and is a member of EMBO. In his free time, he enjoys water and snow sports.

Computational Biologist/Data Scientist
atschan@apricotx.comAdrian Tschan was born and raised in Zurich. He holds a PhD in systems biology from the University of Zurich, where he built his expertise in image analysis and data science. He joined Apricot BIO in January 2024 as computational biologist/data scientist to develop image processing pipelines and data science solutions for high-content phenotypic drug response profiling. In his free time, Adrian enjoys cycling and making music.
